Russell and Sue opened their home for me to live with their family when I was in need; for that I will forever be grateful. He was always kind to me, giving me advice as if I were his very own birthed daughter. I remember him talking about his factory work: “I don’t want none of my girls working in a factory; that ain’t no place for a woman.” I thank God for Russell Nichols, and I’m sad to know he’s gone from this earth but look forward to seeing him in Heaven one day. So sorry for the pain you’re going through now, Sharlene and Jackey, Don and Danny, and if Dave or I can be of help please let us know.

I remember when we lived in the trailer behind the big boy and your mom and dad would visit. They always treated me like one of the family! My heart is saddened to hear of his end of life. He will always be with you and I'm always here for you. He will be greatly missed. He has instilled many of his traits and habits to you so as long as you keep his memory alive , he will be with you! Much love!

I have several memories of Russ. The 2 that stand out the most is. My children and I stopping in to "secretly" put his wood in the basement for him.
The hay wagon was pulled up with a load on it that was placed by the basement window.
My girls and I started chucking the wood in the basement and Russ came around the corner of the house holler.... "what are you doing?"
He scared me so bad.....
Another time I drove by the house and he and Jerry was laying under the shade tree behind the house. The only thing was I thought he might of been in distress from the heat we was having that day. It was around 100 degrees.
So I turned the truck around to see if he needed any help. And as I was driving in the driveway I was thinking how in the world am I going to be able to help Russ if Jerry is out with him? Jerry sat up in the yard looking at me and barking, than your dad sat up and said "I am ok, I am just napping!"
We thank goodness he was ok ,because we all know how protective Jerry was of your dad.
I will always have memories of Jerry driving the tractor while your father sat on the fender.
Hugs my friends and God bless you while you mourn the loss of a great man.
