Sandra Sue Exelby

She was born on November 23, 1945 in Coldwater, Michigan to the late L.B. and Ruth (Allen) Gottschalk.

Sandy graduated from Coldwater High School in 1963.

After high school she worked at the Coldwater Daily Reporter. She later worked for Quality Springs in Coldwater, Michigan and retired from Salga Factory, Fremont, Indiana.

Sandy married Norman Neal Exelby on January 9, 1965 in Battle Creek, Michigan, he preceded her in death on October 29, 2014.

She enjoyed doing puzzles, reading books, spending time with her grandchildren and listening to country music. She attended Fairview Missionary Church in Angola, Indiana.

Survivors include her children, Michael (Malisia) Exelby of Coldwater, Michigan, Marianne (Gary) Fraley of Coldwater, Michigan and Melissa (Jason) Gryder of Angola, Indiana, three grandchildren, Matthew Exelby of California, Jaxon and Brody Gryder of Angola, Indiana, brothers, Butch Gottschalk of Toledo, Ohio and Chuck Gottschalk of Perrysburg, Ohio and many nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Jonnie Wright and a brother, Jerry Gottschalk.

Private services and burial will be held at Knauss Cemetery, Coldwater, Michigan.

Memorial contributions in her memory may be directed to the Galilean Children’s Home or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
