Sherry Sue Ellert

She was born on February 22, 1951 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to the late Orlo and Connie (Ayres) Carpenter. She graduated from Hicksville High School in 1970.

Sherry married Thomas Ellert on February 26, 1974 in Hicksville, Ohio.

She enjoyed hayrides in the fall, music and karaoke, and friends, family and spending time at the lake. She treated everyone like family and did not know a stranger.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas Ellert of Long Beach Lake, Fremont, Indiana, children, Jan Ellert of Long Beach Lake, Fremont, Indiana and Kurtis (Lisa) Ellert of Hamilton, Indiana, grandchildren, Kayla Hamman of Paw Paw, Michigan, Kody Ellert and and Haley Ellert, both of Hamilton, Indiana, siblings, Karen Carpenter of Butler, Indiana, Robert Carpenter of Garrett, Indiana, Richard Carpenter of Antwerp, Ohio, Randy Carpenter of Alabama, Debra Wainwright of Auburn, Indiana, and Lori Shuman of Waterloo, Indiana, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Memorial donations in her memory may be directed to Parkview Hospice.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1 pm until 4 pm Saturday, February 22, 2025 at the Fremont Moose Lodge.
