She was born on April 21, 1944 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Frank and Marian (Yackee) Beatty.
Sherry worked at GE in Fort Wayne, Indiana for many years.
She was an artist working mostly with oils and canvas along with pen and inks, drawing landscapes, and birds mostly. She got her start as an artist doing pin striping for cars and motorcycles by hand.
Survivors include her children, Michele McDowell, and Michael McDowell, both of Angola, Indiana, five grandchildren, Amber Birkmire, Marcus (Michele) Wissing, Shane (Amanda) Wissing, Isabella Wilson, and Sierra Green, three great-grandchildren, Aiden, Allieigh, and Tristan, a sister, Deborah Beatty of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and nieces and nephews.
Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Michael Beatty, and Kim “Brooks” Beatty.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 am Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Beams Funeral Home, Fremont, Indiana, with Pastor Tony Baker officiating. There will be one hour of calling prior to the celebration of life at the funeral home.
