Born on July 3, 1958, Tammy lived a life defined by love, kindness, generosity, and a heart that seemed to have room for everyone.
She was truly one of a kind. She had a heart of gold, never met a stranger, and possessed a rare gift for making people feel welcomed, valued, and cherished in a remarkably short amount of time. She was tenderhearted and deeply sensitive, never afraid to show her emotions. Known by many as a bit of a crier, she felt everything deeply, whether it was happiness, sadness, or simply being touched by the kindness of another. Her tears were a reflection of the enormous heart she carried and the depth of love she had for the people around her. To know her was to love her, and the countless friendships she formed throughout her life are a testament to the beautiful soul she was.
One of her favorite ways to show love was through food. She loved to bake and feed the people around her, believing in the simple but powerful joy of bringing people together over something homemade. Her kitchen was an extension of her heart, and whether she was baking something special or making sure everyone had something to eat, she had a way of making people feel cared for. If she loved you, chances are she wanted to feed you, too.
Tammy was also a passionate sports fan who never did anything halfway when it came to cheering on her favorite teams! A proud IU Hoosiers fan, Notre Dame Fighting Irish fan, and Indianapolis Colts fan, she loved cheering loudly and wholeheartedly for the teams she loved. She was equally enthusiastic about supporting local high school sports, especially her beloved Angola Hornets. Whether watching her favorite college and professional teams or rooting for local student-athletes, Tammy brought her unmistakable enthusiasm and spirited personality to every game. If you watched a game with Tammy, you never had to wonder which team she was cheering for!
Throughout her working years, Tammy was employed at Dana Weatherhead until its closure. She later continued her career with the Steuben County Sheriff’s Department, where she worked until her retirement. Beyond her career, she generously gave her time to her community, volunteering for many years at American Legion bingo in Angola. Through her work, volunteer service, and the friendships she formed along the way, she made a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to know her.
Above all else, her family was at the center of her heart. She loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends beyond measure. Her love was unconditional, and she had a special way of making the people in her life feel important and deeply loved.
Tammy was preceded in death by her beloved longtime partner, Leon Feller, with whom she shared many wonderful years; her father, Claren “Beanie” Wyatt; her mother, Elaine (Sharp) Wyatt; her sister, Phyllis Brodhead; and her brothers, Keith Wyatt and Larry Wyatt.
She leaves behind her children, Clint Brown and Amanda (Eric) McHenney; her grandsons, Dillon (Fiona) Kline, Dakota Brown, Drake Brown, and Keegan Brown; four beloved great-grandchildren; her brother, Harold “Ed” Wyatt; and several nieces and nephews.
Tammy’s passing leaves an immeasurable emptiness in the hearts of those who love her. Yet the memories she created, the meals and sweet treats she lovingly prepared, the friendships she treasured, and the love she gave so freely will remain with us always.
Her hands may no longer bake the things we love, but the love she poured into everything she did will live on in the hearts of all those fortunate enough to have known her. She will be missed beyond words and loved beyond measure.
