Toni Mae Fisher

She was born on December 8, 1951 in Bellaire, Michigan to the late Earl and Geraldine (Dirian) Sylvester.

Toni married Gayle A. Fisher, Jr. on November 11, 1972. He preceded her in death on August 22, 2017.

She proudly served in the United States Air Force as a nurse from 1970 -1973, stationed in California.

Toni loved to do gardening, and feed and watch the birds.

She formerly lived in Toledo and worked as a nurse at the Toledo Hospital. She also lived in Stryker, Ohio, Bryan, Ohio and eventually moved to Angola. She worked for Oak Hill Campground and the Potawatomi Inn at Pokagon State Park.

Survivors include her children, Timothy A. (Angela) Fisher of Fremont, Indiana and Dawn M. (Robert) Layman of Alvordton, Ohio, four grandchildren, Ashley Fisher, Jorden Fisher, Michael Fisher and Roarke Layman, a sister, Maryann B. Burke, brothers, David Arthur Sylvester, Edward John Sylvester and Earl J. Sylvester, Jr., a sister-in-law, Vilinda “Sue” Lemons and a brother-in-law, Robert Fisher.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert David Sylvester.

A visitation will be held from 11 am until 12 pm Saturday, November 7, 2026 at Peace Lutheran Church, Fremont, Indiana.

A Celebration of Life will follow at 12 pm at Peace Lutheran Church, 355-IN-120, Fremont, Indiana, with Military Honors. Pastor Jared Rudolph will be the officiant.
