Bill’s heart for young people led to his unwavering support for youth organizations like 4H and Scouting.
Without his tireless promotion and relentless advocacy of Sea Scouting, there would be no Sea Scout ships in Northeastern Indiana.
He singlehandedly convinced the Central Region Sea Scout Committee to bring Seabadge training to the Anthony Wayne Area Council in 2012.
His efforts benefited hundreds of young people all across the Midwest.

Bill is the reason we got to scout with our sons again! He introduced us to venturing and eventually Sea Scouting. I will never forget the look on Bill's face when he suggested I start a sea scout ship and my reply was, in Indiana?!? He quickly schooled me in how I could absolutely have a ship in Indiana and we've had one ever since! I will miss his smile and knowledge of our program!

To Friends and Family of Bill,
I will never forget the Sundays I would talk to Bill at Camp Chief Little Turtle outside the dining hall as he would take pictures of Units attending Camp that week. We would catch up on what was going on for both of us. He was a great volunteer for Scouting and contributed greatly with his time, talents and Ideas of how Scouting could be better in NE Indiana and Anthony Wayne Area Council. He will be missed.
Former Scoutmaster, Camp Director, and Scouter in Pokagon District and Anthony Wayne Area Council
