Anna Lou Klopp, 98, of Burgoon, passed away, surrounded by her loving family, into the arms of the Lord on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at ProMedica Memorial Hospital. She was born the daughter of Louis and Belva (Vrooman) Gamertsfelder on November 15, 1920 in Burgoon, Ohio. Anna Lou married her classmate, sweetheart and neighbor, Warren Earl Klopp on June 27, 1942, and they spent 63 wonderful years together until his passing in 2005. Anna Lou worked at Zink’s while Warren was away serving in the military during WWII, and then became a cafeteria cook at the Jackson Burgoon School. She finally retired on November 15, 1987 from Lesher Printing, where she worked in the bindery department.
Anna Lou liked to keep busy. She was a member of the Burgoon United Methodist Church, once called the Burgoon Evangelical United Brethren Church, where she served at the church treasurer until she was 96 years old. Anna Lou was a member of the Mother’s Club, Farm Women’s Club, served as the Burgoon Village Clerk, and presided as an election judge for Jackson Township. Anna Lou loved her flower gardens, cross-stitching, going on bus tours with Warren, and her special cat companions; Misty, Callie and Susie.
Surviving are her daughter; Shirley (Allan) Brelsford, sons; James (Sherry) Klopp, Richard Klopp, grand-daughter; Alison (Jon) Weaver, and great-granddaughter; Joanna Weaver.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Warren, siblings: Owen Gamertsfelder, Pat Turner, and Lloyd Gamertsfelder.
Anna Lou’s family would like to thank all the caregivers and nurses at Valley View Health Campus, Fremont ProMedica Memorial Hospital and ProMedica Hospice for their loving care.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 5, 2018 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Keller-Koch-Chudzinski Funeral Home, 416 S. Arch Street, Fremont, Ohio, 43420.
Funeral services will take place Thursday, December 6, 2018 at 11:00 am at Burgoon United Methodist Church, 3269 Main Street, Burgoon, OH, 43407. Pastor Jeffrey Lee Ridenour will be officiating. Burial will follow at Smith Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Burgoon United Methodist Church.
