Chancy Dale Blodgett (85) of Fremont died Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Fremont Memorial Hospital, Fremont. He was born November 15, 1927 in Green Springs, Oh to the late Chancy C. and Vida Ann (Crumb) Blodgett. He was a veteran of the Army Air Corp and worked at Chrysler/General Dynamics. Mr. Blodgett was a life member of the Fremont American Legion and VFW Posts. He enjoyed fishing both river and Lake and was an avid fan of Ohio State and Cleveland sports.
Mr. Blodgett is survived by 3 sons: Brian (Melissa) Blodgett of Bowie, Md, Joseph (Ila) Durnwald of Fremont and Edward Durnwald of Fostoria. 3 daughters: Marianne (Ronald) Jacobs of Fremont, Janet Singleton of Bellevue and Margaret (Robert) Diemer of Portage, MI. 21 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. 3 sisters: Laura Joseph of Clyde, Lucy Malone of Niles, MI and Maggie (Donald) Gries of Bellevue. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wife: Bernadine T. (Meyer) Blodgett who preceded him in death in 2005, 3 Brothers: Merle, Alton and Donald Blodgett and 4 sisters: Doris Tressler, Hazel Wadsworth, Ruth Hauker and Anna Jean Blodgett.
Visitation will take place Friday, September 13, 2013 from 5-8P.M. and Saturday, September 14, 2013 from 5-8P.M. at Keller-Ochs-Koch-Mason Funeral Home, 416 S. Arch Street, Fremont, OH.
Funeral Services will begin at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, September 16, 2013 at the Keller-Ochs-Koch-Mason Funeral Home with Rev. Jacob Gordon officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation through the funeral home.
