Constance E. Timpe Abbott, 87 formerly of 310 Hayes Ave., Fremont, died at Bethesda Care Center Wednesday afternoon, August 3rd. She was born in Fremont on September 12, 1923, the daughter of Carl Timpe and Alma (Wahl) Timpe. On December 5, 1944 she married John Abbott at First Lutheran Church in Tulsa, OK. He preceded her in death on January 31st, 1988. A graduate of Fremont Ross High School, she and her husband owned and operated Abbott’s Draperies where she was active in the daily business operations for over 50 years. They also worked together at Constance’s parents’ business, Timpe’s Flowers. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday school, was a member of Rachael Circle, the church council, and the Altar Guild. Constance volunteered her time for Lutheran Social Services, was an excellent seamstress, enjoyed playing the flute for Fremont Symphony Orchestra and was devoted to the interests of her family.
Surviving are her children: Richard (Fran) Abbott of Marietta, GA; Jim Abbott of Fremont, OH, David ( Jan Roller )Abbott of Cleveland, OH, Ronald (Karen) Abbott of Port Clinton, OH, Douglas (Donna) Abbott of Denver, CO; Susan Abbott of Columbus, OH; 13 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Joan Zimmerman of Fremont, OH. Visitation will be held at Keller-Ochs-Koch-Mason Funeral & Cremation Service, 416 S. Arch Street Fremont, OH on Sunday, August 7, 2011 from 3 -5 and 7-9 P.M. Funeral services will be Monday at 10:30A.M. from St. John’s Lutheran Church with additional visitation beginning at 9:30A.M. Pastor Joe Lees officiating. Burial will take place immediately following services at Oakwood Cemetery
