

He was born April 11, 1955 to Ramon and Maria (Roman) Colón in Fremont, OH. Eddie worked for 38 ½ years at Whirlpool as a repairman, and was very involved in his community. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and loved St. Joseph Catholic Church. Eddie coached track and cross country for 15 years at St. Joseph. He also loved coaching his children in CYO basketball. Sports were the highlight of his day, with his favorites being the Cleveland Browns and The Ohio State Buckeyes. He was Ohio State’s biggest fan.
Eddie is survived by his wife, Penny (Pocock) Colón of Fremont, OH; daughter, Shannon Colón of Chicago, IL; son, Brandon Colón of Cleveland, OH; siblings Raymond (Karen) Colón, Sonia (John) Lindenberger, Maria (Vern) Conley, Margi (Sonny) Dicker, Margaret Tucker, Lisa (Bryant) Haralson, Teresa (Dave) Riehm, Dorothy (Terry) Stanforth, all of Fremont, OH; Joseph (Gretchen) Colón of Wichita, KS, Rose (Terry) Hasselbach of Oak Harbor, OH, Mike (Carole) Colón of Pataskala, OH, Olga (Sean) Juza of St. Joseph, MI, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held Thursday, January 22, 2015 from 2-8 P.M. at Keller-Koch-Chudzinski Funeral & Cremation Service, 416 S. Arch Street, Fremont, OH. A Mass of Resurrection will be Friday, January 23, 2015 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Rev. Eric Mueller officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
