Evelyn L. Mathia

Evelyn L. Mathia, 93, of Fremont died Friday, May 27, 2016 at Bethesda Care Center. She was born May 18, 1923 in Fremont, Ohio the daughter of Mearl and Leona (Lance) Clymer. On October 14, 1944 she married Walter E. Mathia at St. Ann Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on April 21, 1991.

Evelyn worked as a schedule clerk for Ohio Bell and retired in 1989 from Detroit Trim. She was a member of St. Ann Church, Moose, and Eagles. Evelyn enjoyed the company of her grandchildren, gardening, canning and baking.

Surviving are daughters Sandra Gooslin and Mary (Lester) Hull both of Fremont, OH; sons Ronald Mathia of Ft. Gay, WV; Thomas (Lucy) Mathia of Gibsonburg, OH; David Mathia of Fremont, OH; 10 grandchildren;9 great-grandchildren; sister Joyce Rader of Hessville, OH. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Carl Clymer, Wilson Clymer and Otis Clymer and her sister Cora Keween.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8P.M. at Keller Koch Chudzinski Funeral Home, 416 S. Arch Street, Fremont, OH. A Mass of Resurrection will begin at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at St. Ann Catholic Church with Rev. Nathan Bockrath officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
