

Gloria Claire Gibbins Fahrbach, 88, of Fremont died at her former residence surrounded by her family. She was born April 2, 1923 in New York City, NY the daughter of John F. and Helen M. Gibbins. She was raised in Highbridge (West Bronx) NY. She attended Sacred Heart School and Walton Girls High School in the Bronx. Upon graduation in 1940, she was hired at the buying office of Mercantile Stores (Lion Store) in New York City becoming head buyer of teenage girls apparel for their 57 stores. She married Wesley R. Fahrbach June 18, 1949 in Highbridge, NY. She lost Wesley in 1975. She was a loving wife and mother to their eight children.
They family moved to Fremont in 1952 when Wes was manager of the Fremont Lion Store. They loved Fremont as a wonderful place to raise their family. Gloria was a member St. Ann Catholic Church where she was an active member serving on the finance committee, helping in the RCIA program and a member of the Sacred Heart League. She was a member of the Friends and Neighbors Bridge Club, Plant and Bloom Garden Club and and League of Women Voters. She was also the head buyer for Memorial Gift Shop seven years. In addition, she also was a member director of Fremont AAA, Charter Member of the Sierra Club, Fremont Historical Society, and was a realtor for Co-Op Realty from 1982 to 2003.
She is survived by her children: Wesley (Linda) Fahrbach of Fremont, Rev. John Fahrbach of Northwood, OH, Ellen Bergman of Genoa, Phyllis Fahrbach of Fremont, Father Paul A. Fahrbach of Attica, David (Rebecca) Fahrbach of Fremont, Donna (James) Bergman of Oak Harbor, Michael (Diane) Fahrbach of Louisville, KY. She was a loving grandmother to 22 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren. Preceding her were her parents, her husband, son in law Henry Bergman, daughter in law Julie Tritch Fahrbach and grandchildren Paul and Paula Fahrbach
Calling hours will be Monday from 2-8PM at Keller-Ochs-Koch-Mason Funeral & Cremation Service, 416 S. Arch St, Fremont. A Mass of Resurrection will be Tuesday at 11AM at St. Ann Catholic Church with Father Paul Fahrbach officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Ann Parishioners Tuition Fund, Birchard Public Library, or donor’s choice.
