Jane Victoria Butdorf

Jane Victoria Butdorf, 85, of Tiffin, passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Autumnwood Care in Tiffin, Ohio. She was born the daughter of Rule D. Egbert Sr. and Ruth Elizabeth (Harper) Egbert in Tiffin, on June 25, 1930. Jane was a graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School and attended Heidelberg College and BGSU. She taught for 13 years until her retirement at the School of Opportunity in Tiffin. Jane was very involved in her community. She was a member of the First United Church of Christ and their quilting club “So and Sew”. Jane was also a member of Eastern Star, President of Mothers of Twins club in Tiffin, and was in charge of Visitation for Sick and Shut-Ins for many years. She was married 65 years to Richard M. Butdorf, who she loved to play golf with and travel to Florida and South Carolina. Family was very important to her; she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are her husband, Richard, children, Garold R. Butdorf of Fairborn, OH, Jeraldine (Rick) Howell of Gallipolis, OH, Keith (Wanda) Butdorf of Anderson, SC, Kathryn (Steve) Livoti of Tiffin, OH, grandchildren, Kristin (Tony) Carrino, James (Macey) Butdorf, Kara (Nate) Perry, Matthew Butdorf, Tony (Tai) Livoti, Melissa Howell, Christopher Butdorf, Jeremy (Dana) Butdorf, Jeffrey Howell, Julie Howell, great-grandchildren, Kayla Ziemnik, Tony Carrino, Roman Perry, Dax Livoti, Damean Butdorf, Michelle Butdorf, sisters-in-law, Shirley Egbert, Barbara Egbert, and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Rule D. Egbert Jr., John Egbert, Kenneth Egbert, sisters, Irene Walcutt, and Dorothy Keggeries.

Visitation will be held Monday, November 2, 2015 from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the First United Church of Christ, 1500 Tiffin Road, Fremont, OH, 43420. Funeral services will begin at 1:30 p.m. following visitation with Pastor Elaine Bast officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
