Jerry R Shiets

Jerry R. Shiets, 64, of Oak Harbor, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, April 16, 2016. He was born the son of Gerald and Janet (Linkey) Shiets on September 22, 1951 in Fremont, Ohio. He married Georgette Reiter on February 13, 1970 in Michigan, and she survives. Jerry was self-employed at Fremont Body Paint, was a member of the Coon Creek Hunting Club, enjoyed duck hunting, collecting antique decoys, and restoring corvettes. He was a wonderful husband who loved his family, and enjoyed gathering with them and spending time together.

Surviving is his wife, Georgette, of Oak Harbor, mother, Janet Shiets-Linkey, of Fremont, children, Jerrad, Jason, Jacob, and Katie Shiets, of Oak Harbor, brother, Larry Shiets, Sister, Dana Brown, grandchildren, Audrey Pshock, Jacob Shiets and Piper Shiets.

He is preceded in death by his father, Gerald J. Shiets.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 20, 2016 from 2p.m.-4p.m. and 6p.m.-8p.m. at Keller-Koch-Chudzinski Funeral Home, 416 S. Arch Street, Fremont, Ohio, 43420. Funeral Services will take place Thursday, April 21, 2016 at 11a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
