

Larry James Wilkins, 74, of Fremont, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Sunday, March 19, 2017. He was born the son of James and Wilda (Roush) Wilkins on January 27, 1943 in Tiffin, Ohio. He and his twin brother, Gary, joined the United States Air Force in September of 1961, and were based in Columbus, Ohio where they served until 1965. Larry married his first wife, Mary Beth Wilczynski on April 11, 1964, and she preceded him in death on March 23, 1998. On July 27, 2002, Larry married his second wife, Patty Goldston, and she survives.
Larry had earned his Associates degree in business at Tiffin University, and used his education to work as a Field Claims Superintendent for Cincinnati Insurance, where we worked for 32 years before his retirement. When he wasn’t working, Larry loved to play golf, was an avid golfer at the Fremont Country Club, and has scored 4 hole-in-ones over the course of his golfing career. He was also a very religious man, and was a member of Grace Community Church, the Christian Business Men and the Serendipity weekly bible studies. He and his wife, Patty, loved to travel, both in the states and abroad, and wintered in Venice, Florida. Above all, Larry loved spending time with his family, and always made sure he made it to all of his grandchildren’s sporting events.
Larry is survived by his wife, Patty Wilkins, of Fremont, children; Denise (Brian) Burns, of Fremont, Christopher (Jamey) Wilkins, of Fremont, Gregory (Eliza) Goldston, of Superior, CO, Brittney (Matthew) Cropper, of Delaware, OH, grandchildren; Aaron and Ashley Burns, Tory and Tiberius Wilkins, Conner, Madison and Jackson Cropper, Ashley and Nicholas Goldston, his twin brother, Gary (Judy) Wilkins, of Fremont, and their children, Amy and Matthew Wilkins, brothers-in-law; Michael (Carolyn) Wilczynski, Joseph (Christie) Wilczynski, nieces and nephews, Michael Wilczynski, Joanne Wilczynski Becigneul, and her son Evan Becigneul; Christy (Lon) Lester, and their children, Annastyn and Colin.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and his first wife, Mary Beth.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 25, 2017 from 1pm to 5pm at Keller-Koch-Chudzinski Funeral Home, 416 S. Arch Street, Fremont, Ohio, 43420. A memorial service will take place Sunday, March 26, 2017 at 3pm at Grace Community Church, 900 Smith Road, Fremont, Ohio, 43420. Pastor Forrest Kirchenbauer will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Grace Community Church, Stein Hospice, or the Fremont Youth for Christ.
