Maria Nevarez

Maria Nevarez, 83, of Fremont died Thursday morning, March 15, 2012 at Countryside Continuing Care Center where she had been a resident for six years. She was born August 28, 1928 in Harlingen, TX the daughter of Lino and Guadalupe (Cantu) Garcia. Maria worked as a farm laborer a housekeeper and was a nurse’s aide at the former County Home, now Countryside Care Center. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Maria was a strong, energetic woman who enjoyed sewing, Bingo and traveling, especially to Las Vegas. She was devoted to her family and loved the company of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving is her daughter, Leticia “Trish” (Al) Reyes of Fremont, OH, grandchildren: Dominique E. Bustos, David E. Bustos, Jr., Amanda M. Reyes and Samantha L. (Reyes) Kendrick; great-grandchildren: Arianna M. L. Bustos, Kria A. Bertmeyer, Isabella R. Kendrick, Ethan A. Wiedemann; brothers: Alfonso (Maria) Garcia of Fremont, OH, David (Isabel) Garcia of Phoenix, AZ, Lino Garcia of Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Virginia Pena, brothers, Enrique Garcia, Benito Garcia, and Alejandro Garcia.
