Mary Helen Yeager, 92, of Fremont died Tuesday evening, January 30, 2018 at Elmwood Assisted Living. She was born on September 9, 1925 to Joseph and Mary (Gillan) Lukac in Port Clinton, OH. She married C.W. “Bill” Yeager on June 16, 1951 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church by the Reverends Karl Brand and Nicholas Traunero. Bill survives.

She was a 1945 graduate of Port Clinton High School. She was a timekeeper at Standard Products prior to her marriage. She then became a full-time homemaker.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons James (Mary C.), Gerald (Sandra) and John (Tina Schuman, grandchildren: Sarah (Bobby) Druckenmiller, Molly Yeager, Meghan Yeager, Kyle (Christine) Yeager and Alisha Yeager; great-grandchildren Carter and Cameron Druckenmiller. She is also survived by siblings Ann Warner, Helen Ahrens, Margaret Snow and John Lukac. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Joseph Jr.

Mary was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, its Confraternity and the Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Fremont Country Club and its Ladies Golf Association. She was a member of the SJCC Booster Club and volunteered for many years as a playground supervisor for St. Joseph Elementary School. She also volunteered in the school cafeteria. She was a member of Fremont Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and volunteered with Mobile Meals.

She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as spending summers at the family cottage on Lake Erie.

Visitation will take place on Sunday, February 4, 2018 from 2-6P.M. at Keller-Koch-Chudzinski Funeral Home, 416 S. Arch Street, Fremont, OH where vigil services will begin at 6:00P.M. A Mass of Resurrection will begin at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, February 5, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Thomas “Spud” Yeager Memorial Scholarship Fund/ BHCS, St. Joseph Catholic Church or Promedica Hospice of Memorial Hospital
