

Surrounded by her loving family Patricia Ann “Pat” Gabel, 73, of Fremont, passed away on Friday, November 18 at Valleyview Health Care Center after a courageous battle with multiple-myeloma. Patricia was born October 10, 1938, in Fremont to Cletus and Mary (Feighner) Haubert. On May 30, 1959, she married Kenneth H. Gabel at St. Joseph Church in Fremont. She was a 1956 graduate of St. Joseph High School.
Surviving Patricia is her husband, Kenneth of 52 years, four children: David (Julie) Gabel, Atlanta, GA, Lori (Darrell) Stein, Greenville, SC, Beth (Brad) Davis, Westerville, OH, Steve (Amy) Gabel, Maumee, Ohio; nine grandchildren: Scott and Ava Gabel, Austin, Nicholle and Andrew Stein, Erica and Evan Davis, Katie and Emily Gabel; two sisters Norma (Tom) Reineck, Fremont, OH, Joanne (Don) Lippert, Sandusky, OH. Her children and grandchildren brought her great happiness and pride. Patricia will be remembered for her compassion and tireless devotion to both her family and her friends.
She will be dearly missed by them and always have a special place in their hearts.
Patricia was an active member of St. Joseph Church, The Confraternity of the Blessed Sacrament, The Marian Society, The Auxiliary of Memorial Hospital and volunteered at the SJCC cafeteria and school. She also served on their Board of Education and represented the Board on the St. Joseph Church council. She was employed by the Fremont Board of Education for 15 years.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the nurses and staff of Hospice of Memorial Hospital and Valleyview Health Care Center. In addition, a special thank you to family and friends for their support through this difficult time.
Visitation will be Monday, November 21 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Keller-Ochs-Koch-Mason Funeral & Cremation Service, 416 Arch St., Fremont. A Mass of Resurrection will be Tuesday, November 22 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Michael Zacharias officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
