Robert Lee Klingman, 86, of Fremont, passed away Sunday, November 25, 2018 at Countryside Manor. He was born at home in Bradner, Ohio on November 17, 1932 to Donald J. and Laura (Duquette) Klingman. Robert graduated from Bradner High School, and then enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he served from 1953 to 1957. After his service in the military, Robert briefly worked for NASA before returning to his roots and running the Klingman Farms with his family. Robert also owned and operated Economy Plumbers with his wife, Carole Klingman.
Besides serving his country in the military, Robert was also very involved in serving his community. He was a member of Shriners International, the American Legion, and the Eagles. In his free time, he enjoyed stopping by and checking on his farms, and loved to fly the Cessna he had specially painted with his favorite color, red. In addition, Robert was a licensed HAM Radio Operator, and those close to him may recognize him by his call number, WA8WUR.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Carole Klingman, of Fremont, children; William (Coni) Klingman, of Sandusky, OH, Christine Klingman, of Fremont, Thomas (Laura) Klingman of Fremont, grandchildren; Ryan, Sara and Alaina Klingman, step-grandchildren; Matt and Grant Nicholas, 2 great-grandchildren, and his Italian Greyhound, Bella.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, James Klingman, and infant brother, William Klingman.
Services will be private for the family. Burial will take place at Bradner Cemetery.
