Alice Barigian-Mooradian

Alice was born in New York to loving parents Bedros and Hanum Vartanian, who were survivors of the Armenian Genocide. Alice had an older sister, Armina, who preceded her in death.

Alice and her sister grew up in Brooklyn New York. They were raised by wonderful parents who devoted their whole life to family. Alice loved being with her sister, cousins, and close family friends. She was very fond of the Big City and loved sharing family stories of her life there.

Alice graduated from an all girls school in Brooklyn NY. Shortly after she graduated the family moved to Sanger California, and then Fresno, where Alice worked for the phone company.

In 1952 she married her love, Harold Barigian. They had two children, Deborah and Lori. Alice and Harold shared many wonderful memories and loved hosting family gatherings. They were married until Harolds early passing in 1974. Alice started working as a purchasing order secretary for Bervan Rug Mills.

In 1982 Alice married Sarkis Mooradian of Fowler, and lived on his ranch for the next 25 years until his death. They enjoyed many years together with their blended families, and traveled to wonderful places around the world.

Alice loved spending time with her children and Grandchildren. Alice also loved fashion and always had a great sense of style. She loved visiting San Francisco, as it reminded her of growing up in New York. She also had a love for the performing Arts. Alice enjoyed attending Philharmonic concerts, plays, musicals and the Opera. After her husband’s passing Alice enjoyed living at Fairwinds, a retirement community in Fresno, until she eventually moved in with Lori and her grandchildren the remainder of her life.

Alice is survived by her daughters Deborah Barigian of Tiburon CA, Lori Barigian of Fresno, her Grandchildren Tyler and Alyssa Birges, and her niece Norene Hastings of Pacific Palisades.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Erika Lopez who helped take such good care of Mom. Her love, kindness, compassion and support is greatly appreciated.
