Alvin Doyle Piearcy
August 19, 1957 – July 28, 2018
Alvin Doyle Piearcy was born on August 19, 1957, in Kerman, CA to Albert and Zella Scarbrough Piearcy. He passed away on July 28, 2018, and will be laid to rest on his birthday.
He grew up in Kerman, the youngest of three with sisters, Linda and Dorothy. While working full time, he graduated from California State University, Fresno. The greatest joy of his life was being a dad to his daughter Heather. His only grandson, Everett, was born two months after Alvin lapsed into a coma. He would have delighted in being a grandpa and seeing what a great mom his daughter is.
Alvin had a true love for life. From a mischievous, fun-loving, friend magnet as a little boy, he grew to be a bright, kind, compassionate and good hearted man and father. He loved his family and pets, and enjoyed people in general, good conversation, and spirited but friendly discussion of issues. Nature, the mountains and coast, movies, concerts, and events were pleasures. He loved music and taught himself guitar. Spending time with his daughter was best of all.
An illness that would have devastated most brought out only the best in him. He faced it with strong faith, a brave, realistic but positive spirit, unfailing gratitude and intelligent navigation of whatever challenge confronted him. His warm humor was a gift.
He is survived by sister Linda; daughter Heather; grandson Everett, from Fresno, CA; sister Dorothy; nephew, Casey Janeiro of Redding, CA; niece, Brandy Janeiro Starkgraf of Colorado; and an aunt and cousins in Oklahoma and Arkansas.
Deepest thanks and gratitude are extended to Delano Regional Medical Center Special Care Unit; and Community Regional Medical Center staff for the thoughtful care and kindness given Alvin and his family.
A Graveside Service and Burial will be held at Fresno Memorial Gardens on Sunday, August 19, 2018, at 10:00 a.m.

Linda - On behalf of your KUHS Class of 67, I am sending our deepest sympathies to you and your family. Too many of us have felt the sting of a sibling's loss; and my heart goes out to you and Dorothy, especially. I am so sorry you are hurting and pray that God's love will see you through this very difficult time. I will tell you, our class's Facebook page has the announcement of Alvin's death and many of your "old" friends are praying for you and your entire family. I hope you find comfort in knowing you all are in our hearts.

You were the epitome of a true friend. I can still remember playing football in our front yard. You never, ever, used your physical condition to make excuses for anything. I remember dove hunting with you and My brother David, as well as when we took you to Disneyland. I am so happy to have known you. I remember when your Mom used to call and ask if you were at our house. My Mom would answer yes, and your Mom would say, “can you please send him home”. Well, I know for a fact, you are on your way “home” to see your Mom! Love you friend!
