

At the age of 17, he was a full time student and held a full time job. From a dishwasher to a cook, he found his passion at an early age. He was very well known in Fresno's finest restaurants while working with the best chefs and best places where he learned and loved his occupation.
Due to changes in the food industry, and his life, he became a United States citizen and returned to school where he completed two Associate of Science degrees in Management and Culinary Arts, including various certificates and awards in the food industry. At the age of 63, he retired from Fresno Community Hospital Food Service Department.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pedro Salazar, and Basilia Diaz; and his brother, Benjamin Salazar.
He is survived by his wife, Maria Magdalena; and their daughter Emily. Andy also leaves three sisters, Rita Solis, Stella Ruiz, and Frances Castro; and four brothers, Pedro, Manuel, Robert and Danny Salazar; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held at Lisle Funeral Home, on Thursday, January 5, 2017, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., followed by a Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be held at St. Jude Catholic Church in Easton, CA, on Friday, January 6, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. Burial to follow at Belmont Memorial Park.
