Anita "Mema" Haskell, a compassionate, devoted, kind-hearted, and resilient woman, passed away on April 17, 2025, at the age of 78. Born in New Castle, England, on June 14, 1946, to Reginald and Rohda Simcock, Anita moved to Fresno, California, at the age of 15.
She graduated from McClane High School and Fresno City College. Anita began working at an early age, initially babysitting, and later pursued a career as a secretary and paralegal. She worked for Al Berryman at several esteemed law firms, including Lerrigo Thuesen, Walters, Nibler, Hedrick, Baker Manock & Jensen, and later Coleman & Horowitt.
Anita was an active mother and a dedicated soccer mom, where she met her lifelong partner, Mike Soria, affectionately known as Pepa. Her family includes her daughter, Tiffany Lynne Guerrero, her son, Jeffrey Dean Haskell, her grandchildren Justin, Nico, Nicole, and Natalia, and her great-grandchild, Kaiden. She is also survived by her three beloved fur babies.
Mema was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Zena Givens. She was a devoted fan of the soap opera "Days of Our Lives" and cherished the music of Elvis Presley.
Anita's final resting place is at Belmont Memorial Park, located at 201 N Teilman Ave, Fresno, in Block 25, Row 801, Space 1. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
