Ann Misato Yamaguchi-Rumbaugh passed away on November 24, 2024 at the age of 91. Ann was born in Fresno, CA on May 19, 1933 to Takamatsu Yamaguchi and Mikiyo Minami Yamaguchi. She was the youngest of eight children.
Ann spent her childhood in Fresno where she attended McKinley Elementary School and Central Union High School. After graduation, Ann worked as a housekeeper for several local families. Later she moved to Southern California and took a job as a clerk at New York Life Insurance Company. Through hard work and dedication, Ann received several promotions and later became the Office Manager of the largest New York Life office in Southern California.
In 1971, she married Dale Rumbaugh in Cancun, Mexico. In their free time, they enjoyed traveling within the US and abroad. Upon retirement, Ann and Dale moved to Bend, OR, where they enjoyed skiing, line dancing, and other outdoor activities. They later returned to Fresno to be closer to family.
When Ann wasn’t traveling around the world with Dale and close family, she spent her time volunteering at the Braille Institute and sewing quilts and cross stitches for her friends and family. She was always smiling, laughing, and using her quick wit to make those around her laugh. Those who were lucky enough to meet Ann will remember her kind heart, quick smile, and love of conversation.
