Annette Marion (Matthews) Radavero was born October 25, 1930 – in Belzoni, Mississippi to Alyne and Clint Matthews. At two months old, her family moved to Los Angeles, California, where she spent her early childhood. In the fourth grade, Annette relocated to Kerman, California. She attended Kerman High School, proudly serving as class treasurer.
Annette’s flair for fashion and eye for beauty emerged early in life. She channeled this passion into a lifelong career: eventually owning a clothing boutique in Kerman, hosting many events and fashion shows that quickly became local highlights. She traveled frequently to “market” in San Francisco with her close friends, making cherished memories.
On the 30th anniversary of her future in-laws’ marriage, Annette wed the love of her life, Anthony “Tony” Radavero, in a Valentine's Day afternoon ceremony at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Annette and Tony built a loving home in Kerman, where they raised two sons, Richard (Jill) and Mike (Debra), and welcomed grandchildren Chase Radavero and Blake Hoffman (Ashlee). One of the greatest surprises of Annette’s later years was meeting her great-grandson, Ansel—a moment she never thought she would live to see.
Annette and Tony were enthusiastic travelers and loved spending time at their second home in Shaver Lake, California, where Annette took great joy in skiing, reading, and entertaining family and friends. After her mothers passing, Annette cared for her sister, Gloria Joyce Matthews, who preceded her in death.
A gifted homemaker and gracious hostess, Annette delighted in organizing memorable celebrations. Known in Kerman for lively parties and community events, she also led many Cub Scout meetings. Annette was crowned Queen of the Kerman Harvest Festival. Years later, she was asked to serve as the Grand Marshal for the festival’s 75th Diamond Jubilee.
Tony preceded Annette in death, and she missed him dearly after the many years of marriage. Along with her sons and their wives, grandchildren, and great-grandson, Annette is survived by many cousins whom she loved deeply.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful care team whose support allowed Annette to remain in her beloved home until her final moments.
A Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 15437 W Kearney Blvd, Kerman, CA 93630.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to St. Patrick’s Building Fund, a cause dear to the Radavero family and Annette’s heart.
