Tony was born in Fresno on January 16, 1965 and passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at the age of 48. He graduated from Washington Union High School in 1985 and join the United States Marine Corp where he spent four years. When he was stationed at Yuma, Arizona he began driving a stock car on Saturday nights and fell in love with racing. When he returned to Fresno after being discharged with the help and support of his family and friends he continued racing on local tracks in Hanford and Madera winning several races in his #14 Chevelle. After sustaining a severe injury in 1997, he quit racing but became a dedicated race spectator at the local events.
Tony is survived by his parents, Gary and Betty Medina; sister, Robin Martinez; nephew, Gary Martinez of Fresno and niece Traci Silva of Roseville, California.
Visitation will be held at Lisle Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 18, 2013, from 11:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.
A Graveside Service will be held at Washington Colony Cemetery on Friday, December 20, 2013, at 11:00 a.m.
