Anton was born in Jakarta, Indonesia on June 6, 1962, to Usman Dinata and Sioktin Gho. His booming laugh easily filled every room. He had a special ability to talk to anyone and everyone. Anton had a love for people and nature from a young age. He would frequently organize groups of peers in high school to escape for a weekend in the Tretes mountains nearby. Anton loved Indonesia and had no desire to leave, but God had greater plans.
In 1983, Anton first moved to the USA to pursue a degree in finance at Baldwin Wallace College in Berea, Ohio after an opportunity to study in America opened up. It was there that he would meet the love of his life, Veronica. After graduation, a job opportunity in Fresno, California opened up that would relocate them there. Anton had every intention to go back to Indonesia after a few years, but alas, God had greater plans once again. He could not escape Fresno.
Anton was a foodie to the core. He always gathered people together regardless of where he was at to break bread and enjoy each other's company. When Anton and Veronica settled their roots down in Fresno, California, they sought an Indonesian community to break bread with. Through their search, they came across a group of Indonesian Evangelical Christians who helped them come to know the Lord in 1995. God touched their hearts and taught them how to break bread in the Word with others through the Indonesian body that would come to be known as Immanuel Community Church Fresno. Anton and Veronica faithfully served in the church and had a great heart for the Lord.
Anton fought against heart disease for 20 years. Despite all of his ailments and weakening body, he always had a smile on his face and hope for the future because he trusted in God’s good plan. He cherished every moment knowing his days were numbered and lived in gratitude for the joy he got to experience in the Lord daily.
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Anton is survived by his wife Veronica Dinata, his daughters Gabrielle Fong (and spouse Ryan) and Giovanna Vania Dinata, and his beloved granddaughter Charis Fong. He is also survived by his mother Sioktin Gho and sister Marybeth Timotiwu (and spouse John). Anton is preceded in death by his father Albert Usman Dinata.

A Visitation will be held at Whitehurst Sullivan Burns & Blair Funeral Home, 836 E. Nees Ave., Fresno, CA 93720, on Friday, August 7, 2026, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Immanuel Community Church Fresno, 4141 N. Millbrook Ave., Fresno, CA 93726.
A graveside service will immediately follow at Fresno Memorial Gardens, 175 S. Cornelia Ave., Fresno, CA 93706.
