

Armida Cardenas Moreno, 96, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Sunday, July 31, 2022 at Kaiser Hospital in Portland, Oregan. She was born November 7th, 1925 in Williams, AZ to Hipolito and Juanita Cardenas.
She married Robert Adame of Flagstaff, AZ and moved to Fresno in 1945. Robert passed away in 1967. She married Andrew Moreno, a retired Sheriff Officer in 1980, he passed away in 2007. She worked as a Teacher's Aide for Fresno Unified School District for 30 years and in her retirement worked as a care giver for the elderly. Armida enjoyed bowling, playing guitar, making quilts, cooking, and going to church. She will be most remembered for the unconditional love she gave to her daughters and grandchildren.
She is survived by her five daughters, Eleanor Nathan, Gloria Lawlor, Theresa Lotspeich, Roberta McQuillen, and Cynthia Adame. Also, by seven grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and three great, great grandchildren. Family and friends are welcome to come celebrate her life.
A visitation for Armida will be held Thursday, August 11, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM at Whitehurst Sullivan Burns & Blair Funeral Home, 836 E. Nees Ave., Fresno, CA 93720. A Recitation of Holy Rosary will occur Thursday, August 11, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2140 N. Cedar Ave., Fresno, CA 93703. A Mass of Christian burial will occur Friday, August 12, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2140 N. Cedar Ave., Fresno, CA 93703.
Armida will be laid to rest in St. Peters Catholic Cemetery, Fresno, CA.
Serving as pallbearers are Facio Palomino, Alana Palomino, Rudy Soto, Andrew Hernandez, Royce McQuillen and Zain Keomanivong.
