Barry served in the Marine Corps and was a retired California Highway Patrol Officer. He was a blessing to all who got the chance to meet him. On September 5th, 2015, he married the love of his life, Carolyn Voith. He was a kind and caring soul who would help anyone who needed him. Barry loved to travel, his favorite destination being Hawaii.
Barry is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn, one brother, Alan (Maryann), his children; his son Michael (Peggy), daughter, Dawn (Robert), 4 granddaughters, 3 grandsons, 3 stepdaughters, and his Lil Pal/Grandson, Jac A. Cortez III.

Please join us at Whitehurst Funeral Home the evening of July 13th, to accompany us during the Visitation beginning at 4:00PM followed by the Recitation of the Holy Rosary to follow at 7:00PM.
The following day, July 14th, please join us at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Fresno at 10:00AM for the Mass of Christian Burial followed by the Final Committal Service at Calvary Cemetery in Madera at 11:30AM.
