

Ben was born in Fresno, California on January 6, 1947 and passed away on August 23, 2021 at the age of 74 due to heath complications. He was preceded in death by his parents Abe and Mabel Mascarenas, his brother Tim Mascarenas and sister-in-law, Darlene Mascarenas. He graduated from Central Union High School and continued his education at Fresno Pacific College. He left Pacific College and went to Ohio as a volunteer counselor. He then went on to work in San Fernando Valley counseling troubled youth.
Ben worked special programs and projects in Fresno, Sacramento, Southern California, Washington D.C. even traveling to Israel to study drip irrigation. He was also a business loan officer in Southern California.
In 1991, he returned to the Fresno to work in the family business Mid-Valley Labor Services.
He was an avid sports fan of the San Francisco Giants and Fresno Grizzlies, but his passion was USC Trojans football. Ben enjoyed traveling to different places throughout the world. He also hosted many foreign exchange students who attended schools throughout Fresno and Clovis.
He was known for his sense of humor and his generosity. After Tyler McNabb was born his parents gave Ben the title of grandpa. He dedicated his time, love and energy to being “Papa”.
Ben is survived by his siblings Sarah Mascarenas, Betty and her husband Jim Scheidt, Steven & his wife Lori Mascarenas and a number of nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his extend family Chris McNabb, Brandy McNabb and Tyler Dean McNabb.
A private graveside service will be held at Fresno Memorial Gardens.
