She was born April 3, 1920 in Cidra, Puerto Rico and married Higinio Hernandez on August 13, 1940. They immigrated to Chicago, Illinois in 1955 and moved to Fresno in 1977.
Both were devoted Christians and began a Spanish ministry at Bethel Lutheran Church. They worked side by side in ministry until the passing of Higinio in 1999.
She will forever be remembered by her loving children, Samuel Hernandez, David Hernandez, Alma Wells and Eliud Hernandez along with many friends and family whom were blessed to know her.
Benita Hernandez touched the lives of many people. We are comforted by the knowledge that she is in the presence of Christ Jesus and will live with Him always.
Visitation will be held at Stephens & Bean Chapel on Thursday, December 20, 2012, from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m.
A Funeral Service will be held at Bethel Lutheran Church on Friday, December 21, 2012, at 11:00 a.m.
