Betty Freiberg was born and raised in Fresno, CA. The only daughter of George and Ida (Steitz) Schmidt, she attended schools in Fresno, graduating from Fresno High School in 1941, also attending Fresno State College for one year.
Her 26 year career was in women's retail clothing, and she had worked at Coopers, I. Magnin, and Roos Atkins. Betty retired in 1976, as manager of Village East in the Fresno Fashion Fair Mall. Betty was also a member of the American Historical Society of Germans from Russia.
Betty described herself as a frustrated musician. She loved to dance and sing, and was known for knowing the lyrics to every song. She and her husband Chuck spent many enjoyable times at the piano bar.
Betty was preceeded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles K. Freiberg; and her son, Larry Burrow.
A Memorial Service will be held at Stephens and Bean Funeral Chapel on Saturday, January 23, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. followed with a reception.
