I worked for Bob way back when. There was a black and white cat hanging around the Minks’ place. It hated me because, one time, I patted it on the head like a dog. It bit right through my hand, wrapped around my arm, and ripped me to shreds with front and back claws. After that, it stalked me and would chase me around trying to kill me. That cat knew what truck I drove and would be sitting in it waiting for me in the mornings. It would be sitting in my jeep waiting for me to get off work. So one morning we were all standing around in a circle and Bob was telling us what we were going to be doing for the day and that damn cat came strolling over to us.  I was watching it every minute and trying to listen to Bob. The cat was going in and out of the guys’ legs, like cats do, rubbing against their legs, and Bob said, “Dave, if you don’t pay attention you’re not going to know where we’re going” and I said, “I’m watching your cat - he’s coming this way.”  Bob smiled that way he smiled, and said, “That cat ain’t gonna hurt you.”  Right about then that cat latched on and bit me in the leg, ripped right through my jeans with his claws, ripped the seam apart, and shredded my leg.  Bob said, “Well, that cat is crazy.”

Uncle Bob was one of a kind.  He believed in hard work and putting family first. He was always there for us; that's what I remember most. I never recall him losing his temper or having a hard word to say about anyone. He had a heart of gold and was there to help.  We were all so proud of him. I guess everyone that knew me knew of my Uncle Bob. I loved spending time with him. Everytime I got a load coming this way, we would meet at the cafe or go home and grill out with him.  He just made you happy by being there. I could go on and on but the truth is he was and always will be my super hero. Love and miss you Uncle Bob. 

Gary, so sorry to hear about Uncle Bob. We will be praying for y'all.  I loved him and Aunt Mary a lot.  I remember him coming to Aunt Rine's and getting corn meal so he could have corn bread.  He was a good man. We love y'all.  Please stay in touch as much as you can. 

We are sorry for your loss. Uncle Bob was special to us, We stayed in contact a little he never was a big talker. I send text he call me few times and say he read them just didn’t know how to answer. Even though we haven’t been in touch we love you. Praying for strength until we all meet again.

Graveside Service

Mr. Mink also leaves behind 1 grandchild and 2 great grandchildren to cherish his memory.
