Bruce Nichols passed away peacefully on Monday, December 23, 2024 at the age of 89. Born on May 4, 1935, he was known for his outgoing personality, generous spirit, love of golf and fast guitar playing. He touched the lives of many and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Joyce Nichols; sister, Wanda Estril; daughter, Lorrie Nichols Hopper; son Randy Nichols, and grandchildren Ragon Nichols, Victoria Hopper, Natalie Nichols and Daniel Hopper.
Bruce’s life was characterized by love of family. He will be remembered for his love of his wife, children and grandchildren and his concern for them. He also loved animals, particularly his dogs Marly and Molly.
Bruce worked for Fresno County for over 20 years in Building Maintenance at Valley Medical Center, the last six years as the Maintenance Supervisor. He was a local musician for over 50 years, playing with bands such as Joe Holley and the All Stars.
Services are scheduled for Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at 10:00 am at Whitehurst Sullivan Burns and Blair Funeral Home, 836 E. Nees., Fresno, CA 93720. A committal service to follow at Clovis Cemetery, 305 N Villa, Clovis, CA 93612.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fresno Mission, in honor of Bruce Nichols memory.
