

Burl Donald Kitchen passed away October 31, 2014. He was born January 6, 1925 in Hitchita, OK to Elmer Lee and Pearl Mae Kitchen. Burl served aboard the PF10 Brownsville in the US Coast Guard in the Pacific during WWII. After his honorable discharge in 1945, he worked as an electrician for PG&E and Southern Pacific RR. In 1976, Burl married Beverly Elias Calaway. Together they enjoyed many happy times in Aptos, CA. Burl especially loved salmon fishing with family and friends from his Bayliner out of the Santa Cruz Harbor. He has been a member of the Palo Alto Masonic Lodge for many years.
Preceded in death by both parents, Burl is survived by his wife, Beverly; daughter, Antoinette (Toni) Kitchen Thiel; sister, Dortha Hatch and her husband, John; and brothers, James Kitchen and Tom Jernigan; step-sons, Allison Calaway and his wife Janna, Loren and Joel Calaway; grandsons, Nick Foy, Patrick and his wife Amanda, and Matthew Calaway; and granddaughters, Cortney and Bethany Calaway, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Lisle Funeral Home, Thursday, November 6, 2014 from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
A graveside service will be held at Fresno Memorial Gardens on Friday, November 7, 2014 at 11:00 AM.
