Candelaria Marquez passed on May 4, 2026, at the age of 98 in Tranquillity. She was born on February 2, 1928, in Mexico to Paulino and Maria Garcia. Retired after 28 years as a cook for Tranquillity High School.
She is survived by her daughter Mary Ellen Pumarejo, sister Crusita Garcia, grandchildren Candelaria and Paul Pumarejo, Tara Dyson, great grandchildren Gabrielle Pumarejo, Nylan and Josiah Dyson, Katerina and Michael Marquez, Addyson and Ayden Fernandez, Janessa Castillo and Kayla Ramirez.
She was preceded in death by her husband Steve Marquez, son Michael Marquez and grandson Brian Marquez.
Rosary on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at 9:30 am and followed by Mass at 10:00 am St. Paul Catholic Church, 25592 Doughty Ave, Tranquillity, California, and will be laid to rest at Fresno Memorial Gardens.
