Carla Marie Anderson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2026, just days before her 73rd birthday.

Born to Anna and Jim Johnston II on July 17, 1953, Carla was raised in Fresno, California, where she attended Thomas Elementary, Tioga Middle School, and Hoover High School and built lifelong friendships that she cherished throughout her life.

Carla began her career as a Mastercard representative in Las Vegas before returning to California to work in Business Administration at Community Hospital. After becoming a mother, she devoted herself wholeheartedly to her family. She embraced her role as a homemaker with love and dedication, volunteering as a teacher's aide in her children's classrooms and coaching youth volleyball.

Carla had a gift for connecting with people. She never met a stranger and genuinely enjoyed getting to know everyone she encountered. She knew every neighbor, loved chatting with friends, and found joy watching neighborhood children play outside. Many will remember her warm smile, infectious laugh, and the way she made everyone feel welcome.

Some of Carla's happiest memories were made at the family's cabin in Huntington Lake. She loved fishing, playing in the snow, keeping an eye out for bears, and spending evenings gathered around the fire with the people she loved most.

A talented cook, Carla was known for preparing meals that brought family and friends together. She was also remarkably creative, mastering intricate cross-stitch patterns and enjoying a variety of crafts that reflected her patience and artistic spirit.

Above all, Carla was devoted to her family. She was an incredible wife to her husband, Dennis Anderson; an unwavering and loving mother; and a truly exceptional grandmother. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and the bond they shared was filled with love, laughter, and treasured memories.

Carla is survived by her loving husband, Dennis Anderson; her daughter, Caryn Cargle and husband Brett; her son, Andy Anderson and wife Noelle; her five cherished grandchildren, Hayden, Tegan, and Taelynn Cargle, and Sophie and Andy Anderson; her sister, Karen Mimms; and her brother, Jim Johnston III.

Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in the countless memories Carla leaves behind. Her loving smile, wonderful laugh, generous spirit, and the family dinners she so lovingly prepared will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Whitehurst Sullivan Burns & Blair Funeral Home, 836 E. Nees Ave., Fresno, CA 93720, US, on July 31, 2026, at 1:00 pm.

Carla's legacy of kindness, friendship, and unconditional love will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
