Carlo Prandini a generous, loving, compassionate, father, nonno, bis nonno and friend passed away at the age of 95 in Clovis, California. In his final days he was surrounded by family and friends who came to visit, comfort, provide care and share their love.
Carlo was born in Porterville, California to hardworking Italian immigrants Pietro Antonio “Tony” Prandini and Pia Argilia “Teresa” Pitigliano. He attended Saint Anne’s School and graduated from Porterville High School in 1950. Almost immediately he began a career as a “telephone man” a field he worked in for nearly five decades starting as a lineman and eventually co-owning TelCo Enterprises.
He married his high school sweetheart, Barbara June Birchfield in 1951 and joyfully began building a family of six children. Barbara after a short illness sadly passed in 1966. For the next 12 years, Carlo raised his six rambunctious kids with the unselfish help of his mama Teresa. Carlo found love again and married Susan Marie Brager in 1978, bringing joy and her two girls to the family. Tragically, Susan passed suddenly in 1995 causing all of us to regroup again and move forward together.
From the beginning Carlo was committed to his family and his church always putting both at the center of his life. He was very active and supportive at Saint Anne’s in Porterville, Sacred Heart in Fresno and Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Clovis. Fiercely loyal to his eight children he worked hard to provide them with love and care. His love for his family was always extremely evident!
Carlo was proceeded in death by his grandparents Camillo and Maria Pitigliano, Carlo and Maria Prandini; his parents Tony and Teresa Prandini; his father and mother-in-law Eber and Velda Birchfield and mother-in-law Sylvia Stalcup. His beloved wives Barbara June Prandini and Susan Marie Prandini; Brothers Tony and Angelo Prandini; Brother-in- law Kenny Christiansen, Sister-in-law Cici Prandini; Grandchildren, Barbara June Anderson, Ryan Brunetti and Benjamin Prandini; Daughter-in-law Shiela Prandini; Nephews Pat TeNyenhuis and Tony Prandini Jr.
Carlo is survived by a large loving family: His children Carlo Prandini Jr and wife Theresa; John Prandini and wife Jeanne, Teresa Kandes and husband Hal; Annie Anderson and husband Steve; Mary Floyd and partner Wes Blevins; Chris Prandini; Michelle Brunetti and husband Howard; Joanne Desin and husband Nick.
