Carolyn is survived by her brother, Wayne Barbarick; her daughters Linda Staffero and Lezle Adam; her son-in-law, Bob Steinacher; her grandchildren, Michael Adam, Callie Carbajal, Damien Adam, David Adam, Daniel Adam and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Staffero, her parents, her stepmother Lavada Barbarick and her siblings, Clara Neves, Lavena Dickey, Lew Barbarick, Virginia Wells, Marolyn Souza, Marianne Russ, Boyd Barbarick, Henry Norwood and Verda May Norwood.
As a child, her family moved from Texas to Southern California and later to California's Central Valley. Carolyn lost her mother at the age of eight and was lovingly raised by her sister Lavena and brother-in-law, Burton Dickey. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1953.
In 1955, Carolyn met Frank Staffero at the Santa Cruz Boardwalk. They were married a year later at the Little White Chapel in Las Vegas. Together they built a life centered on family and hard work and faith. Carolyn held several jobs over the years, but she was most proud of being a devoted wife and mother. She later worked alongside Frank in their business, Curb Service, which they owned until retiring in 1994.
Frank passed away in 2001 and from that time on, Carolyn found comfort in her family, her friends and her church. She loved spending time with her sisters, playing cards and being part of the Sungarden Church of Christ.
In 2015, Carolyn moved from her home of 55 years to be closer to Lezle and her grandchildren. Eventually, she moved to The Grove Assisted Living, where she lived until her passing in 2025, at the age of 91.
We remember Carolyn for her devotion to family, courage and the love she gave so freely. She will be deeply missed.
A graveside service will be held at Fresno Memorial Gardens, located at 175 South Cornelia Ave, Fresno, CA 93706, on Monday, January 19, 2026, at 1:00 p.m.
