Charles Carlos Olono

Charles C. Olono passed away to be with our Lord on Tuesday, January 17, 2017. He was 88. Charles was born on July 7, 1928, and grew up and attended Madera schools, until he enlisted in the United States Army.

Charles married Rose, his beloved wife, shortly after his return home from the military. In the 59 years that followed, they raised four children and enjoyed the blessings of 12 grandchildren.

Charles was a devout Catholic and member of the Knights of Columbus. He was chairman of an annual Christmas Food Basket program where countless volunteers participated to deliver bags of food to the needy every Christmas Eve morning for the past 50 plus years. This past Christmas Eve, even though his health was failing, he made sure the outreach occurred successfully!

He is survived by his four children; 12 grandchildren; a brother; a sister-in-law; a nephew; and many friends.

Visitation will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Friday, January 20, 2017, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. followed by Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Saturday, January 21, 2017, at 9:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.
