

Charles (Charlie) Harman Stoltenberg, age 96, passed away at his home in Fresno, CA, surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday April 24th, 2019. He was born to Charles Fredrick and Veola Sarah Stoltenberg on January 29th, 1923 in their home in Reedley, CA, and was the last of four children, Earl, Roy and Marjorie. He attended school in Reedley, CA until age nine, when his family moved to their farm on Belmont Avenue in Fresno, where he spent the majority of his life. He attended Clovis High School during this time, and, graduated from Clovis High School in 1941.
Charlie began his much-loved career as a truck driver in the 1950’s ending his career at Smith Tank Lines in 1985, where he worked for 25 years. He met and married Florene Evans during this time and had two children, Charles Clifford Stoltenberg and Sandra Charlene Stoltenberg. Florene passed away in 1978 after a long illness and Charlie married Sue Hevle in 1983.
Charlie is survived by his loving wife Sue, Clifford, Charlene, and step-children Jack, Cheryl, Edgar and Randall Hevle, 10 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren, and 6 Great-Great Grandchildren.
There will be a graveside service at Fresno Memorial Gardens Monday April 29, 2019 at 11:00 am and a memorial April 29, 2019 at 3:30 pm at the Terraces at San Joaquin Gardens.“Please make any donations to the Terraces at San Joaquin Gardens or your favorite charity”
