Cherie Noel Etchegoyen

Cherie was born in Norfolk, Virginia to Bonnie Lee and Bernard White, as one of four siblings. She moved to California in the 60's with her mother and siblings, where her mother was remarried to Allen Waite, Cherie’s stepfather. It was also there that Cherie met her husband, John Etchegoyen, with whom she would have two daughters, Noel and Jolie. She loved being a mother and a grandmother to her four grandchildren.

Cherie worked as a medical claims processor for over forty years. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, music, dancing, cooking and making her homemade fudge every Christmas. She enjoyed attending all of her grandchildren’s activities and milestones: sports games, plays, choir recitals, birthdays, graduations, and more. Cherie loved to travel to the coast, and her favorite place to be was at the beach with her family. She also loved to take walks with the family corgi, Bailey Blue, and sweet treats and a cup of tea were her daily indulgences.

Cherie touched many lives with her love, kindness, beautiful smile and wonderful laugh. She will be remembered for her caring heart and her devotion to her family.

Cherie was predeceased by her daughter, Jolie, and her grandson Jacob. She is survived by her daughter, Noel, her grandchildren: Mikella, Joshua, and Summer, her son-in-law, John, her sister, Nicole, as well as many other family members and friends.

A viewing for Cherie will be held Friday, August 22nd, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Stephens and Bean Funeral Chapel, located at 202 North Teilman Avenue, Fresno, CA, 93706. A Celebration of Life for Cherie Noel Etchegoyen will be held on Saturday, August 23rd, 2025, starting at 2:00 pm, also at Stephens and Bean Chapel. All who knew and loved Cherie are welcome to attend.
