Christine graduated summa cum laude from Fresno State, and later in life was extremely proud of achieving her Master of Organizational Behavior from the California School of Professional Psychology. As a lifelong career human resources professional, she strived to incorporate the forward-thinking, ideas and processes she so whole-heartedly embraced from her Master’s program into her professional capacity.
Christine’s satisfactions in her academic endeavors were only exceeded by her joy in her spiritual learning, healing and growth. She explored herself daily and was on a life-long journey to experience spiritual and intellectual growth. She constantly asked herself the meaning of her life and actions, and how and why she affected those around her.
She was not shy about telling it like it was and often challenged those in her life to examine their inner thoughts, feelings and motivations. All this was done with firm, loving and thought-provoking communication to promote self-guidance and insight; often direct, but tolerant and non-judgmental. She made you think.
Christine was a founding member of Lydia’s House, a group long associated with the St. Paul Newman Center. Lydia’s House was created and open to all women as a place of gathering to explore, express and affirm women’s spirituality and experiences of the divine.
Christine loved to travel. Her greatest adventures were the many miles traveled with her partner in their RV as they discovered the grandeur and thrill of Mother Nature all across the Great American West.
Those who knew Christine know how she always had something to do, something to finish, often making her late to her engagements. She one time coyly asked, “Is running late considered exercise?”
Some of her happiest times were family gatherings for holidays, birthdays, or just being together. Christine was devoted to her beloved parents Al and Esther Gonzalez, her brothers Marc, Ron and Paul, her nieces, nephews, extended family and her many loving and dear friends. She will be greatly missed by her longtime love, partner, companion and best friend Charlie Janiel.
Let us not feel pain or sorrow, for it is with great love that we send her on to her next spiritual awakening. Live in Peace.
Services will be held at Whitehurst Sullivan Burns & Blair Funeral Chapel January 8, 2019, 1:00 p.m.
Remembrances may be made in Christine’s name to Hinds Hospice, 2490 W. Shaw Ave. Suite 101,
