Christina passed away peacefully in her mother, Carmen Murphy Gonzales' home, who recently passed on August 7, 2025. Christina was always surrounded by her loving family on a daily basis.
Christina was preceded in death by her father, Manuel Diaz Gonzales, her two brothers Manuel Gonzales Jr. and Robert Gonzales, her late husband Chris Casteneda, and prior late husband Frank Gutierrez. Christina is survived by her three children; son Manuel and wife Kari, son Tommy and wife Heather, and her daughter Leticia, who also endured the recent loss of her husband, Ignacio (Big Chach) Escamilla, on February 4, 2026. She also is survived by thirteen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, as well as her siblings, brother Fernando and wife Margie, sisters Cecilia, Blanca, and Christina's youngest baby sister Veronica, who was Christina's caregiver. She also leaves behind a host of many nieces, nephews and friends.
Christina was under the care of Home Health and Hospice. Our family, friends, care facility, and funeral home all came together as a body of Christ to help Christina in every way possible. It was a group effort that everyone took part of in Christina's journey while she was alive and endured throughout her sickness.
Many of Gods blessings to each and every one of you. Christina was very much appreciative, and so is the entire family. For all of your prayers, visits, goods, needs, and so so much more, we thank you.
Christina was a beautiful soul that was loved and respected by all that knew her, and in return she gave that beautiful love and respect back. Christina had a great big loving heart, and for all, love was greatly noticed. Christina was a loving wife, momma, nana, great Nana, daughter, sister, Tia, niece, cousin, friend and so much more.
The following verse in Gods words describe Christina the best. We know God is very much proud of her and that she has earned her crown in Heaven. Without a doubt Christina was a very lovable and humble lady.
Verse 1 Corinthians 13:4-8
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud, it is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Christina you will forever be in our hearts, greatly missed and never forgotten.
With much Love, Kindness, and Respect,
Your Family
