We are broken hearted Our Beloved "Chuck" Niles has left his earthly home. He is now in the loving arms of his Heavenly Father. He left two days after celebrating his 79th birthday with his family. Sharing a piece of his favorite lemon cake, telling his family he loved them and hearing his Great Granddaughter Jaydnn sing Happy Birthday brought a smile to his face.
Chuck was born and raised in Fresno, CA. He joined the Army in 1956 and while stationed in Panama he contacted Valley Fever and was transferred to Fitzsimons Army Hospital in Denver, Colorado. While there he met the Love of his Life, his wife Bette. During their 59 yrs together they were blessed with two wonderful children. Charles Warren Niles and DeeNeece Nunez; three loving grandchildren, Shaneil Sanders, Shawna Nunez and Justin Nunez; and four great grandchildren who were the light of his life, Ruben Dominguez, Alyssa Cadena, Logan Soto and his "Little Loud One" Jaydnn Mendez. He left with them with a lifetime of memories and a Legacy of Love that will live on forever.

Chuck is also survived by his stepbrother Richard Easley, Emery TX, Aunt Evelyn Reynolds, Anchorage, AK and Uncle Dave Niles, Concord, CA; and many sister and brother in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Chuck loved his "Extended California Family". He opened his home to Alyce Sutton and Shawn Daly and was very proud to be a Father Image and role model to Shawn. He loved treating him as a Son. He cherished all the family outings he shared with his Family. The many trips to their home in Morro Bay, the family visits to Tolstoy, SD, camping at Dinkey Creek, all the fun times in Las Vegas and the many Birthday and Holiday Celebrations. He will always be remembered as the "Family God Father" and left memories that will last a lifetime.
He loved his Fresno State Bulldogs and enjoyed the tailgating parties The Tarkanian Basketball Team, the trip to Hawaii and the Alaska trip with Rick & Kristy were some of his favorite memories. He was a devoted San Francisco Giant fan and attended many of their games. Chuck loved to gamble. He could not pass a casino without stopping. Sometimes late at night he would look at his wife and say "My fun stash is getting low"; so off to Table mountain they would go. Luck was usually on his side.
After Chuck was discharged from the Army he worked for Williams Boring Co where he learned his welding trade. He also worked for Rancher's Cotton Oil. In 1967 he started work for The City of Fresno and retired in 1994 as Fleet Supervisor. After retirement he started his own business "Niles Welding” He enjoyed being able to continue with his favorite pastime welding and spending time with friends.
Chuck was a member of FORCE. He was one of the retirees who helped initiate the Ventura Benefit Case. A settlement that enhanced retiree's pay and benefits for all employees in the City of Fresno Retirement System. He was also a member of the Fresno Masonic Lodge No 247.
Chuck was an AMAZING, loving, giving and kind man. He left a lasting impact on the life of everyone he came in contact with. A friend of Chucks' became a Friend For Life.
