Clara Lemley was a lover of life. She celebrated the little things, celebrated love, and celebrated her family. Born on February 19, 1924, in Oklahoma, she moved to California in 1936, and in 1942, married the love of her life, James Lemley. Never one to shy away from work, she worked as a bookkeeper at the Anderson Clayton Company for 32 years.
Clara loved people and never met a "stranger." She loved to garden and reveled in the fruits of her labor. Each year, she planted tomatoes on her birthday and on June 1, her husband's birthday, would pick the first tomato of the year. Most of all, she loved her family. Her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the lights of her life.
Clara passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2014.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband James; her daughter, Edna Marlene; and her son-in-law, Don Jenvey.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Jenvey; her son, Don Lemley and his wife Karyl; her grandsons, Donald Lemley, and Jason Farris and his wife Katie; her granddaughters, Debi Smutny and her husband Jeff, Jamie Farris, and Cheyenne Jenvey; and her five great-grandchildren.
Clara, loved by so many, was a light in this world whose brightness will be deeply missed.
