

Claydee was born in Heavener, Ok. on June 16, 1923, the son of Elijah "Lige" and Ruby Weaver. He went to join his beloved angel and wife, Edna Mae Weaver and his loving son, Kevin Claydee Weaver on Thursday, April 19, 2012.
Claydee grew up in the Dos Palos/ Firebaugh area. He graduated from Dos Palos High School. Claydee met his future wife Edna on a blind date at the Hollywood Palladium in 1943 and they were married on April 18, 1944. He was a 2nd Lt. in the United States Air Corps during World War II. After the war, he and his wife Edna moved to the Los Angeles area, where he worked as a police officer. From there they moved back to the Central Valley, where he farmed with his father. He eventually ended up in the cotton industry working for West Side Growers Cooperative Gin, where he made his career as a manager of several cotton gins.
When he retired, Clay and Edna loved to travel. They went to Alaska every summer for about ten years, where they enjoyed fishing. They also traveled around the United States making many dear friends along the way. Claydee was proud of his Indian Cherokee heritage and thoroughly loved learning about his ancestors. His Indian name was Spirit Talker which was linked to his love of telling stories.
Claydee was an amazing Patriarch, leader and example to his family. He was very involved in his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren's lives. Whenever there was a family gathering he was there; loving, laughing and enjoying his family. He was the most kind-hearted, thoughtful, loving and generous man.
Claydee is survived by his two loving daughters and daughter-in-law, Sharon Weaver Isbell and her husband Robert of Edmund, Ok., Sandra Weaver Willis and her husband Bob of Fresno, and Carla Weaver of Fresno; his loving companion, Marna Douglas of Fresno; eight grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Service celebrating his life will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Fresno Memorial Gardens.
