Connie Castro was born on April 10, 1931, and passed peacefully into the arms of God on Sunday, June 6, 2010. She was born in Indio, California to Jose and Maria Hernandez. After residing in Firebaugh for most of her life, she had recently become a resident of Kerman.
On November 27, 1949, Connie was married to Brigido A. Castro.
Her son, Joe Castro preceded her in death.
Connie is survived by Brigido A Castro, her husband of 60 years; daughter, Bernie Champion and her husband Jerry; son, Jimmy Castro and his wife Samantha; brother, Joe Hernandez; sisters, Katy Rodriguez and Rosie Hernandez; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Connie also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Firebaugh on Friday, June 11, 2010, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Firebaugh on Friday, June 11, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery in Fresno.
