He was born in Los Angeles; as a young boy he moved to Fresno and graduated from San Joaquin Memorial High School. After his service in the U.S. Navy, he returned to Fresno with his wife Phyllis. They would have celebrated their 59th anniversary in December. He attended San Diego State College, Fresno State College and went on to work as an engineer at CalTrans until he retired in 1994. He was Master of the Las Palmas Masonic Lodge in 1976. Dan enjoyed traveling, boating, golf and fishing especially in Alaska.
He was preceded in death by his grandson Nicky.
Dan is survived by his wife Phyllis; sons, Mike and his wife Jan, and Jim and his wife Melanie; grandchildren, Sheena and Kenny.
A Memorial Service will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home on Friday, June 22, 2012, at 11:00 a.m.
